My first experience with Perfy was the Perfy Pepperoni Pizza soda. It was disgusting, but also endearing. I love novelty, and the whole concept was ingenious. This Cherry Cola is a completely opposite mindset, but endearing in a less complicated way. It tastes good.

Perfy produces low sugar, low calories, all natural sodas that fit somewhere between a traditional full-sugared soda and a La Croix type sparkling water. My issue with La Croix and similar beverages is that there isn’t enough flavor and they’re too fizzy and bitter. They taste like someone opened an orange in an elevator two floors ago and now you walked in. But, sometimes you need something more interesting than tap water and you can’t always ingest 160 calories of sugar water with a Cherry Coke. Perfy combined a few different fruit juices to approximate the flavor of cherry cola, but with only 20 calories and 4 grams of sugar. It’s also only lightly sparkling, so it won’t give you the hiccup burps on your Zoom call.
The flavor was very very close to cherry cola. It’s a bit muted, but it also tastes more like fruit than most cherry colas that I’ve had. This is probably due to the inclusion of two different cherry juices, pear juice, and tamarind juice concentrate. Cola-elitists will say that this isn’t a cola, but the tamarind juice gets you pretty close to that flavor. The cherry juice is infinitely better than artificial cherry flavoring. There’s also monk fruit extract for low-calories sweetness, and stevia. I wish the stevia wasn’t there, but not everyone feels the same. I can always taste it in that last 20% of a sip and it’s not my favorite. Not a dealbreaker, but not my preference.
Perfy’s Cherry Cola also has L-Theanine and Ashwagandha. L-Theanine is supposed to promote relaxation and lower stress. Ashwagandha is similar. So, this cherry cola is a bit of the opposite of drinking caffeine.
My overall review is that it’s tasty, and certainly has a place in the beverage world. Especially that late afternoon low-calorie refreshment craving that can be hard to fill. You can find this soda on Perfy’s website, on Amazon, and it’s carried in several supermarkets (check their location map). I should note that I received a sample of this drink for free from Perfy, but there were no strings attached. This review is my own opinion, and I’m not receiving any other compensation for my review. I am having a blast making review videos, though.
