2025 UPDATE: This flavor is back for 2025 and is available at Kroger grocery stores. It’s been a bit hard to find, but not impossible.

I love it when established brands experiment with flavors. Sprite launched a “Vanilla Frost” limited edition flavor, and I managed to find a bottle at my local QFC grocery store (available at most Kroger stores).

When I think of Sprite I think of two things. First, Sprite is (or feels) super carbonated. There are so many bubbles it’s almost spicy. Second, Sprite has a sweet balance of lemon and lime flavors that make it crisp and easy to pair with lots of different foods. It’s refreshing.

The Vanilla Frost flavor layers on a bit of vanilla to the citrus. It’s not an overwhelming amount of vanilla, but the end result tasted somewhere between a cream soda and a key lime pie. The vanilla flavors hit me first, and then finished with the tart citrus notes. I enjoyed it, but Sprite loses its neutrality with the addition of vanilla. I would want to drink this alone rather than with a meal. Nothing about this screams “Winter” to me, but you be the judge.

I also paired the soda with eggnog to make a really interesting punch. You can read about that here. This is good with regular Sprite as well, but the Vanilla Frost was a perfect compliment.

Did you try the Vanilla Frost Sprite? What’d you think? Also, check out some of my other posts on the blog! I highly recommend reading about my 24 hour french fry challenge where I ordered french fries at 24 different restaurants over 24 hours. There’s also a video of the experience on my YouTube channel (would love to get a few more subscribers).
