This brew had a strong root flavor (sassafras or sarsaparilla, probably an extract), but that’s all I got. To its credit it wasn’t too sweet, which is hard with cane sugar. I enjoy root beer that has some bite, but I also like a mix of a bit of wintergreen and vanilla to round it out.

I’m betting that this would fare pretty well in a float, but I’ll need to revisit it to make sure.

As is I’m going to give it a 6.5 out of 10.
