OREO and Post Malone collaborated on an OREO cookie flavor recently, and like everything that Post Malone touches, it was golden. In this case, it was half-golden because one of the cookie sides was a golden OREO and the other was a regular chocolate OREO. Sandwiched in between is a swirl of salted caramel and shortbread cookie creme. The combination is delicious. And very sweet.
Aesthetically, I think Posty knocked this out of the park. There are 9 different designs on the cookies and it was relatively easy to tie them back to the artist. They are:
- Circles (like his song)
- Barbed Wire (like one of his face tattoos)
- Saw Blade (like another one of his face tattoos)
- Guitar
- Guitar Pick
- Truck (from the F1 Trillion album cover)
- Sunflower (from his song on the Spiderman soundtrack)
- Butterfly (from his 12 Carat Toothache album cover)
- Knight on a Horse (from the Circles music video)

The swirl of the creme on the inside of the cookies isn’t as picture perfect as what they show on the package, but I’ll give partial credit for the effort.
Again, the cookies tasted great, and the shortbread flavor paired nicely with the salted caramel. I could even taste little grains of salt…I think. Everything was so intensely sweet I thought it was actually sugar. What this cookie really needed was a beverage pairing, and there’s no better drink for this specific cookie than everyone’s favorite grain-based coffee alternative…Postum!
If you’ve never heard of Postum, it’s made from powdered toasted grains that you add to hot water. The result is a slightly bitter and toasty beverage that approximates coffee, but it lacks the caffeine and taboo of coffee. It’s a bit more prevalent in Utah and other areas with high concentrations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons). Coffee is against the health code of the religion, so the adoption of coffee alternatives makes sense.
Dipping the Post Malone OREOs in Postum was a perfect better-together story. The cookies were too sweet, and the Postum was too bitter. Combined, they were wonderfully balanced and an easy recommendation. Could you just dip the OREOs in coffee? Sure, but what sort of brand collab would that be? “Post Malone Coffee” doesn’t have the same ring as “Posty’s Postum”, so I really think this should happen.
If you’re looking for either of these products, I’ll provide some links here. Feel free to source it yourself, but these links might give me a couple of cents as a referral incentive. This was literally never happened even once, but I thought I should warn you, regardless. Link for Postum. Link for the OREOs.
