Call me shocked, but the Garlic Herb Fries from Jack in the Box did not live up to the marketing pictures. Take a look at the advertised vs actual.
To be fair to Jack in the Box, the three fries that actually had the garlic oil were pretty good. To be even more honest, the fries themselves were cooked really well. I liked it. The garlic wasn’t overpowering and tasted real (not just garlic powder), there were some genuine green herbs, and it wasn’t too salty.
Would I order them again? Heck, I don’t know…maybe? I don’t eat a lot of fast food and I wouldn’t make a special trip, but the garlic is definitely an enhancement to the regular fry so I’d say “why not?”.
I’m not going to do a whole lot of fast food fries on this blog, but when special promotions come around like this I’ll try to make a point of checking them out, see if they’re something special. This was decent, and I’ll give it a 4.5 out of 7. Had they tossed the fries instead of dumping a tiny label of sauce they might have been a 5. Even a 5.5. As arbitrary as my ratings are I have to draw a line somewhere.
Sampled on 7/30/2016 at Jack in the Box in Lynnwood, Washington. $2?
