Wintergreen is one of the most common flavors in root beer. It’s also one of the most common flavors in chewing gum. And toothpaste. Are you starting to understand why foreigners question the palatability of root beer?
I tasted this Rocket Fizz soda while blindfolded, which I think was a great introduction. Check out the review here:
Overall, I liked it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the things that Rocket Fizz does extremely well is set an appropriate level of sweetness. They follow the goldilocks principle. Not too sweet, not too dry, it’s just right.
I smelled mint before I tasted it, but I believe this prepared my palate. The vibrant green soda went down smooth, clean, and refreshing. The color of the soda would lead you to believe that it’s carbonated mouthwash. Rest assured that there’s enough natural cane sugar in the bottle to rot your teeth without proper brushing.
I give this a 6.5 out of 10. I enjoyed it, but I won’t go out of my way to drink it again. The flavor is somewhat one note, but that was probably the intent. However, if you’re looking for something to help you kick a toothpaste eating habit this might help.
