I’ve reviewed many of Sprecher’s sodas before, so I don’t need to tell my readers about this gourmet brewing company based out of Glendale Wisconsin that fire brews various flavors of gourmet soda using quality ingredients including an emphasis on local honey and fruits. Click here to see my other reviews of Sprecher sodas. There are still a couple of flavors that I haven’t tried, so when I came across a bottle of their seasonal Strawberry Soda (out of season) I jumped at the chance.

This soda is outstanding! In the past I’ve been disappointed with fresh strawberry juice in sodas. I think it has something to do with the shelf stability of strawberry juice. Or possibly the miniature foxes guarding the best strawberries prevent a proper harvest of quality fruit. Is that a miniature fox on their label, or is it a giant strawberry? Take a closer look. I’m undecided.

That fox looks ecstatic. I was about that happy when I tried this soda. It tastes like perfectly ripe strawberries with honey and vanilla. It’s quite a coincidence because that’s exactly what’s in it. It’s freaking delicious. The flavor reminded me of homemade strawberry jam. Sure, it’s sweet, but the flavor is so bright and fresh it didn’t bother me at all. Almost all of Sprecher’s sodas has been smooth, well balanced, and vibrant. This seasonal brew is an important member of the family.

I tried the soda on its own, but I wish I had another 6 bottles to try it over ice cream. Or with pie. And with lunch. Or dinner. Basically, I just wish I had more of this soda. If you find it, but it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I give it an 8.4 out of 10 on my rating scale. That’s high, and most likely one of the highest ratings I’ll give to a strawberry soda. Amen.
